What is Washi Tape?

Washi tape is basically decorative tape made for paper and crafting.

Wikipedia’s   more educational definition 🙂

Washi (和紙) is traditional Japanese paper. The word “washi” comes from wa meaning ‘Japanese’ and shi meaning ‘paper’. The term is used to describe paper that uses local fiber, processed by hand and made in the traditional manner.

Washi tape benefits:

  • Durable, flexible, and reusable
  • Doesn’t leave sticky residue on your projects
  • Comes in a variety of widths, lengths, patterns, and designs
  • Washi Tape is a very inexpensive stationary supply
  • You can use washi tape for so many crafts

I used washi to decorate one of my weekly cooking and cleaning spreads. I also used stencils and Tom Bow Twin Tone duel Tip Markers. I’m really bad with the straight lines when I’m in a hurry so the washi in this spread also covered my mistakes.

This is agreat idea for when you are super busy. Instead of a tracker that you have to take time and color in you can quickly add a strip of washi tape. Another option that saves time is using stickers for your tracking. Functional stickers like these colorful circles would work perfectly!
